Robert Holmes, The Holmes Group, LLC (THG, LLC)

As a relationship architect, Mr. Holmes builds strategic alliances between companies, public entities and individuals to further the success of a project, organization or mission. Prior to founding THG, LLC, Mr. Holmes was President & CEO of Intrawest USA and Harbor Properties, Inc., where he was involved with two real estate projects that were recipients of the ULI Project of the Year award.

 Speaker Biographies:

Scott Baklenko, Chief Investment Officer, Triad Capital Partners
Mr. Baklenko serves Triad Capital Partners in the role of Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President. His responsibilities include designing, managing and monitoring the firms portfolio of assets as well as devising strategies for growth. Scott, additionally, acts as liaison to the investment and banking communities. Scott's experience in securities, banking, and fund management provide great contribution to the firm.

Scott's experience involves being a founding member of Castle Strategies, LLC (a Registered Investment Advisory Firm),  Castle Advisers, LLC (Real Estate Fund Advisor) and Timberline Financial Group, Inc. (a Registered Investment Advisory Firm). In 2006, Scott joined a group of private investors to launch Centerpointe Community Bank in Oregon. Following the bank's IPO, Scott served on the Board of Directors, including serving as Chairman of the Asset and Liability Committee.

In 2009, Mr. Baklenko was a recipient of the "40 Under 40 Award" as named by the Portland Business Journal. The award recognizes the 40 most influential individuals who are under the age of 40 years old and living the Portland, Oregon area for their leadership in business, community service and philanthropy. Scott is a graduate of Western Washington University.

Bill Pollard, Co-founder & Principal, Talon Private Capital
The team at Talon has deep experience in acquisition, disposition, and investment management across a broad range of property types in multiple U.S. markets. They invest in commercial real estate assets and debt instruments that provide a balance of cash flow and appreciation resulting in long-term wealth creation and preservation. And Talon is the only team in the Pacific Northwest providing the opportunity for private capital to participate in a national investment platform, with access to high-quality real estate historically the domain of institutional investors.

Prior to co-founding Talon Private Capital, Bill was a co-founder and principal at Pacific Real Estate Partners, Inc. for over 16 years. Over his career, Bill has been involved in the sales and/or leasing of more than 6 million square feet and in excess of U.S. $2.0 billion in investment sales. Bill has consistently been recognized as one of the leading brokers in the Pacific Northwest. He earned the prestigious Seattle Broker of the Year award four times, and was a finalist three additional times.The national industry research firm Costar recognized Bill as a "Power Broker" for the past seven years,and he has been the keynote speaker at numerous industry events.

Martin A. Stever, Presiden, Pacific West Land
Pacific West Land is a real estate development company in its 30th year.  The firm is currently running the Pacific West Distressed Asset Fund, which has acquired 14 shopping centers in the last 9 months.  The firm manages over 1 million square feet of retail space, over 9,500 acres in four states, and total assets conservatively valued at over $160M.  Pacific West investors have enjoyed realized profits of over $150M.

A contributor to the Puget Sound Business Journal, Martin originally came to the Seattle area to join Microsoft, after completing his MBA in Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.  He joined Pacific West in 2004. 

Martin is a published aviation historian and game designer, angel investor, and a tireless football fan. He lives on Bainbridge Island with his wife, Dianne, and their daughter.

Campbell Kidd, Managing Partner, Red Hills Acquisitions
Mr. Kidd is a veteran of Wall Street and a former Vice President at one of the world’s premier banks. At Credit Suisse he was responsible for Capital Markets and Mortgage Trading for the Wholesale, Retail and Correspondent Channels. His experience includes management of a $12 billion pipeline consisting of performing and non-performing loans and more than $60 billion in non-agency collateral during his career.

His in-depth understanding of mortgage originations allowed him to design and manage much of the process used by more than 300 mortgage originators nationwide to hedge and trade their mortgage pipelines.He also established and maintains trading relationships with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and multiple large bank portfolio managers and services. A graduate of the University of Oregon, Mr. Kidd returned to his native Oregon to co-found Red Hills Acquisitions.

Richard Gollis, Principal, The Concord Group
Richard M. Gollis is a co-Founder and Principal of The Concord Group (TCG) based in the firm’s Newport Beach office.  TCG is a national advisory firm focusing on market and financial, analysis, transaction due diligence and asset valuation with offices in Newport Beach, San Francisco and Boston. TCG completes hundreds of assignments annually.  Clients include private equity firms, institutional and entrepreneurial capital, investment and commercial banks, public agencies, and developer/builders.

Recent assignments on behalf of private capital/ opportunity funds have included repositioning strategies for distressed assets and new acquisitions for “next-cycle” development.  TCG is relied upon to assist developer and financial clients to maximize investment value while minimizing market risk.  The firm covers all property types (commercial, residential and land), in all metro areas and works under tight due diligence deadlines.

Specifically in the Puget Sound region, Richard and the TCG team have been engaged to evaluate a number of bank portfolios, including valuation and asset workout strategies for OREO and  non-performing office, retail, industrial and home building loans. 

Richard is currently Chair of the Community Development Council (Silver Flight) of the Urban Land Institute, and a Governor of the ULI Foundation.  Additionally, he serves as the co-Chair of the Advisory Board for the Department of Policy, Planning and Design at University of California at Irvine.

Todd Gooding, President, Scanlan Kemper Bard (SKB)
Formed in 1993, SKB is a fully integrated real estate private equity firm based in Portland, Oregon. Investment types include office, retail and industrial. SKB also periodically provides equity to select developers of ground-up development projects located in the Western United States.

Before joining SKB in 1996, Mr. Gooding served as Vice President of Acquisitions for G.E. Capital Investment Advisors and Senior Real Estate Analyst with CB Commercial, Inc. (CB Richard Ellis), both in San Francisco. In these capacities, he underwrote over $1 billion of commercial real estate investments for clients such as General Motors retirement funds, CalPERS and the AT&T Master Pension Trust. He started his career as a licensed commercial real estate appraiser in California. He has subsequently personally overseen the acquisition of over $2 billion, and the disposition of over $900 million, of commercial real estate with SKB. Mr. Gooding received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Oregon.
